Connecting our community with careers
Community Career Connections strives to connect our local Koorie community with career opportunities.

Community Career Connections would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land on which we work and live. May we honour and respect their continuing connection to land, water and community. We also acknowledge their Elders, past, present and those who will lead into the future.

Community Career Connections is a collaborative project between Wodonga TAFE and Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation, which will operate as a Jobs Victoria Mentor service. It will provide Jobs Victoria Mentors to support job seekers from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities in the four Local Government Areas (LGAs), Wodonga, Alpine, Indigo and Towong.

We believe the Dhudhuroa language word Nyanda (meaning ‘many’) reflects the ethos of what Community Career Connections hopes to achieve - helping many. We hope to have many opportunities for training and support through the employment process. We are committed to providing a welcoming and culturally safe environment for all.

Community Career Connections also works closely with National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). This will offer opportunities for employment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Albury-Wodonga area through a range of programs, varying from school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, to part-time and full-time employment programs.

The support from our employment coaches will lead to success for our job seekers as they learn new skills, build resilience and find employment that suits their personal values and lifestyle.

Our team will work alongside to support employers to help find the right person for them, as well as understand the rich heritage and culture of our local community, our job seekers and how they may cultivate their knowledge and understanding of our First Nations Peoples.
